Greubel Forsey
GMT | A limited edition platinum 25° inclined 24 seconds tourbillon, world time and dual time zone wristwatch with power reserve indication and three-dimensional globe, circa 2015 | Greubel Forsey | GMT |
In 2011, Greubel Forsey released the GMT collection, an outstanding demonstration of their innovative craft – a beautiful synergy of a 25° inclined tourbillon and the GMT complication. The watch featured an elusive rose gold dial and adopted their signature semi-skeletonised design to showcase the mesmerising tourbillon. Most striking however, is the spectacular three-dimensional globe viewable from both the front and side aperture – a creation that, befitting the watches roots in overcoming gravity, simulates the earth’s rotation. The reverse of the timepiece is equally as interesting, featuring a world time display with over 24 cities.
Extravagant and unique, it is easy to be lost in the watch’s ensemble of motion, but the fine, stationary details are also not to be ignored. For embodied in every crevice and corner of this watch is Greubel Forsey’s unmatched attention. This particular watch, encased in platinum with a pink gold dial, is a limited edition of 22, one that rarely resurfaces in market. As such, this lot marks an exceptionally remarkable opportunity to acquire this elusive masterpiece.
Sotheby’s is honoured to work in cooperation with Greubel Forsey, providing the new owner with a complete and complimentary service of the watch from an official Greubel Forsey retailer. This includes the update of the owners book and renewal of the two year owners warranty. In addition the leather strap may be replaced and fitted for their usage. Any additional terms and conditions of this unique offer is available upon request.
